About Us

Florent Restaurant & Lounge is a San Diego restaurant, modern lounge and nightlife destination. Located in San Diego’s Gaslamp District, on the corner of 5th & G, Florent serves up an inventive Modern American menu by day, and high energy DJ sets by night. With multiple bars on two levels, Florent specializes in local craft beer, craft cocktails and classic favorites.

The space itself reflects an approachable elegance, with a playful interior that lends itself to the rich history of the Old City Hall building. With unexpected touches of organic and demure glamor, this split-level venue creates sultry San Diego nights.

Florent is open daily for lunch, dinner and late night dining, with an eccentric brunch available on weekends.

Executive Corporate Chef Abe Botello

Florent Restaurant & Lounge is pleased to introduce Abe Botello as the Operational Executive Chef. Chef Botello brings over 10 years of culinary talent to Florent’s kitchen. The San Diego native’s passion for his craft and skilled expertise is used to direct day-to-day culinary operations while developing seasonal menus flourishing with innovative recipes and quality ingredients.

As a San Diego native, Chef Botello developed a childhood appreciation for the city’s hospitality industry at his family’s Mexican restaurant, Los Pinos, in Imperial Beach. Growing up in San Diego, he brings unprecedented tastes that embody the city to Florent. He tailors bold flavors from local artisan purveyors to create an approachable menu of Coastal-Americana cuisine that both visitors and locals keep coming back for.

Cooking professionally since 2008, Botello previously served at the helm of several of San Diego kitchens including those of Urban Solace, Solace & The Moonlight Lounge and most recently, West Coast Tavern. Botello now brings a wealth of culinary experience to Florent.
